Ladies and gentlemen, welcome if you would, to my Canon EOS 1000D's christening. 
And what better a way to christen a camera than with a shot of this little beauty, a British Rail Standard 4 2.6.0 locomotive, affectionate name: Pocket Rocket, running with her support coach to meet ECS at Crewe, before travelling to Machynlleth where it is due to stay until 29th August, when it will return to Bury.
There is reports that this loco will be sold by it's current owner Ian Riley, in order to raise funds for another locomotive overhaul programme to commence. 35009 Merchant Navy Pacific 4.6.2 "Shaw Savill" is currently in bits at Buckley Wells shed, described as in "ex Barry condition" and is/was up for sale. Ian Riley did say however if a buyer could not be found, he would take charge of restoring and overhauling the engine himself once 44871 is all finished and ready to go, which isn't far off last I heard. As yet however, no interest has been shown, if only I had the money to buy such a machine...
