Description

Just this past weekend on Saturday 16th April, Vintage Trains Limited operated "The Red Rose" from Tyseley to Blackburn and return, using all GWR rolling stock throughout. This meant two things. 1, it was a rare chance to see a GWR locomotive out of it's territory in the former LMS region on the LMS's flagship line, the WCML. 2, me and *irwingcommand got a chance to revisit Acton Bridge, this time for steam as opposed to a full days spotting.

The locomotive providing the motive power was GWR Castle Class 4.6.0 number 5043 "Earl Of Mount Edgecumbe", seen here approaching Acton Bridge at speed, in a place last seen in my gallery when the Pretendalino passed by:

interesting choose of the cropping, it's a kind of weird pciture you have all that wire and electric stuff and an steam loco is thundering through the gates. Another plus is the heath distortio in the background  well done CJ
