Description
LMS Princess Royal Class 7P 4.6.2 number 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" crests Scout Green on the northbound ascent of Shap on 12th November 2011, re-enacting the famous record average speed run she managed back in 1936 on "The Coronation Scot" from London to Glasgow.
This time around, she was limited to 75mph, and only started the train from Crewe. Also many features such as water troughs which were formerly present on Shap incline were removed after the end of steam. So this time around, no records were to be set, but with the engine nearing the end of her working life for now, it was a grand sight to see such a mighty engine back where she rightfully belonged.
