Continuing the Lizzie theme, here she is seen on the light engine positioning movement from Tyseley to Carnforth in readiness for the Cumbrian Mountaineer on 17th November 2012. Seen passing through Acton Bridge on 16th November.
Certain locomotives that are out of ticket (non-operational), banned from operating over certain stretches of line or not yet mainline certified are also hauled by diesels in the UK, but quite often when the loco is mainline certified and operational it will work a light loco movement on the mainline under it's own power.
She did run a few hot boxes recently, but other than that there were no major major failures to report. She is a very tired engine however, her crew were nursing her through until new years eve, when her boiler ticket officially expires.
