Description

Another visitor to the ELR on the day of the gala was the KWVR's own pride and joy, War Department Austerity 2.8.0 number 90733, the only operational W.D 2.8.0 there currently is. She is seen passing Burrs Country Park heading up a train from Heywood to Rawtenstall. The locomotive has since returned to the KWVR by road, as seen here.

What can say? Well to start off with the angle is great course Burrs County Park has always been good for getting good angles, just a shame the field is a bit wet as we can see here. The loco in question is a pretty good capture as its very unusual to see this Keighley and Worthy Valley Railway 8F at the East Lancashire Railway. I also love the wide angle that CJ has given it with the tree and the steam engine speeding of to the right very nicely done. Though a few people have been here I am going to have to give him a lower originality. The vision and the impact are brilliant and the technique is pretty good! Brilliant even in the terrible weather conditions!
